As the 2025/26 season ends, reflecting on my first year as Manager of Runcorn Sports FC. We started strongly, sitting 2nd in November, but inconsistent performances saw us finish 6th.
No excuses ,we weren’t good enough, and I expect better from myself and for this club.

Positively, after last season’s relegation, I feel we’ve stabilised the club and built a strong foundation to kick on next season. Football teaches you a lot about yourself and your players. Bring on 2026/27.

Join one of our new managers , Iain on Tuesday 19th May, 6:30pm at St Clements School, Runcorn.
Our development side will compete in the Chester & Wirral League for the 26/27 season.

An amateur footballer suffered a fractured skull after being attacked during a game in Liverpool on Saturday.
Richard Agbasoga, a temporary NHS worker from Ghana, was playing for Ormskirk West End against Calci FC in the Championship division of the Liverpool Premier League — the 12th tier of England’s football pyramid — when the incident took place.
Agbasoga, 27, was punched and kicked in the head after around a dozen men entered the pitch following a fracas which started when another Ormskirk West End player was headbutted in the 22nd minute.
