Calling this an “insurrection against sovereignty” isn’t just overheated—it’s intellectually dishonest. A crowd surrounding a detention center in protest of immigration enforcement isn’t a coup; it’s a constitutional act of dissent. We don't have to agree with the message to recognize the right to send it. Protest has always been part of America’s story—it’s how we expanded the vote, ended child labor, and demanded civil rights. Rebranding it as sedition to score political points cheapens the term and disrespects the gravity of real threats to our democracy. Let’s not confuse volume with violence or disagreement with disloyalty. There’s a world of difference between storming the Capitol to overturn an election and demonstrating against policies you believe are unjust. If words still matter—and they should—then calling this an “insurrection” isn’t just wrong, it’s reckless. Because if protest becomes treason, then democracy becomes theater. And some of us still believe this country is more than a stage.

He didn’t allegedly mock a disabled reporter, demean a POW or attack a Gold Star family. He didn’t allegedly brag about grabbing women by the pussy, didn’t allegedly sexually abuse and defame E. Jean Carroll, or cheat on his wife with a porn star and a playmate. He didn’t allegedly ask Brad Raffensperger to “find” him 11,780 votes, didn’t allegedly tell the Jan 6th crowd to march to the Capitol or agree that the mob was right to want to hang his VP, and he didn’t allegedly wait 3 hours and 7 minutes before stopping the attack. He didn’t allegedly remove highly classified national security documents from the White House, didn’t allegedly show them to people who had no right to see them, and he didn’t allegedly keep them in his motherfucking bathroom. He didn’t allegedly make millions in foreign money while president, didn’t allegedly get his daughter dozens of Chinese patents and didn’t allegedly commit decades worth of egregious business fraud in the state of NY. He actually DID all of those things, while alleging to be a devout family man patriot, while alleging to put America first, while alleging the 2020 election was “stolen” from him and alleging that he is being indicted for the many, many crimes he committed “for you.” No matter what Trump says, no matter how the media frames & spins the truth, no matter what the angriest, loudest voices want you to believe.
