On the first day of the event, participants took part in the 10-kilometre Run for Peace, a mass participation race promoting peace, unity, and wellbeing. This annual international marathon reaffirms Rwanda’s commitment to promoting sports as a foundation for good health, well-being, and sustainable development. #KIPM2026 #IRun4Peace

This afternoon, Minister @nsanzimanasabin received Aurélie Royet-Gounin, Ambassador of France to Rwanda, and her delegation. Discussions focused on key areas of cooperation, with particular emphasis on the Ruhengeri Hospital redevelopment project and ongoing efforts to accelerate its implementation, as well as other shared priorities.

Today Minister @nsanzimanasabin received Hanan AbdelAziz Elsaid Shahin, Ambassador of Egypt to Rwanda, for a courtesy call. The discussions focused on further deepening health cooperation, medical tourism, professional exchange, and other areas of mutual interest.

Today, Minister @nsanzimanasabin received a delegation from the World Bank led by Ronald Mutasa, Practice Manager for Health, Nutrition and Population in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region, accompanied by Dr. Sahr Kpundeh, Country Manager for Rwanda. Discussions focused on the progress of ongoing jointly implemented projects and explored new areas of collaboration, including strengthening primary health care, expanding emergency medical services, advancing health workforce development, and accelerating ongoing efforts in specialized healthcare and medical tourism, among other priorities.

Minister @yusuf_murangwa welcomed Dr. Ronald Upenyu Mutasa, World Bank Practice Manager for Health, Nutrition and Population (Eastern and Southern Africa), for a courtesy visit. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to advance Rwanda’s health sector priorities.

Today, Minister @nsanzimanasabin met with John N. Nkengasong, Executive Director for Higher Education, Collaboratives, and Special Initiatives at the Mastercard Foundation. Their discussions explored opportunities for partnership in health workforce training, school health programs, and other strategic areas of mutual interest aimed at advancing health and human capital development.

Today, alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Minister @nsanzimanasabin briefed the Diplomatic Corps on the Ebola outbreak in the region reaffirming that Rwanda has no confirmed Ebola cases and shared updates on the preparedness and response measures currently in place. As has consistently been a practice, these briefings help ensure that decisions remain informed by evidence and guided by our shared priority of protecting lives and safeguarding public health.

Bakoze umwitozo-ngiro n’amahugurwa kuri Ebola. — Minister @nsanzimanasabin visited Rusizi District to assess ongoing Ebola preparedness efforts. During the visit, he observed a simulation exercise and reviewed key response measures, including surveillance and testing systems, as well as isolation and treatment centres.

Health facilities and communities are also continuing public awareness and prevention activities.
