Earlier this morning, Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) welcomed a delegation from the @HEC_Rwanda, led by Director General Dr. Edward Kadozi, as part of HEC's nationwide outreach programme to higher learning institutions. Key highlights of the visit included: ▶️A tour of @Kigali_College laboratories and workshops to observe practical learning activities, training facilities, and the institution's capacity to deliver competency-based education. ▶️A meeting between RP Management and the HEC delegation to discuss: Quality enhancement in teaching and learning; Institutional challenges facing RP; and opportunities for continuous improvement in higher education delivery. ▶️An interactive session between Dr. Edward Kadozi, teaching staff, and students, focusing on quality education, skills development, and competencies required to meet national and global demands. The visit provided an important platform for dialogue, collaboration, and the strengthening of efforts to advance quality higher education and skills development in Rwanda.

The 2026 TVET Sub-Sector Working Group Retreat which was taking place in Nyagatate concluded following two days of dialogue, collaboration, and reflection. Government institutions, industry leaders, development partners, and training providers came together to assess progress, examine labour market trends, and define priority actions for strengthening Rwanda’s skills development agenda. The retreat provided a platform for meaningful exchange, addressing key sector challenges and exploring practical solutions, ranging from strengthening industry–academia linkages and expanding workplace learning, to promoting entrepreneurship and improving employment outcomes for TVET graduates. Discussions concluded with a renewed commitment to advancing a responsive, inclusive, and market-driven TVET system that equips Rwandans with relevant skills for productive employment and drives socio-economic transformation. #NanjyeNdiTVET #TASWGRetreat

Today officially marked the launch of the Industrial Metalworks Training Program at RP _Huye College, a transformative initiative implemented in partnership with Rema Fertigungstechnik GmbH (REMA), Rwanda TVET Board, and GIZ Rwanda through the Invest for Jobs Project. The program is designed to equip young Rwandans with practical industrial metalworks skills through hands-on training and industrial attachment opportunities, enhancing employability and contributing to job creation within Rwanda’s growing industrial sector. This inaugural intake marks the first of four planned cohorts under the program, with each cohort creating additional opportunities for young people to acquire industry-relevant skills and valuable practical experience in industrial metalworks.
