Through awareness‑raising, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, the initiative seeks to contribute to the prevention and elimination of child labour, advance the rights and dignity of children and promote social justice and human rights.
To mark this year’s World Day Against Child Labour, observed every year on June 12 to raise awareness against the exploitation of children, the Commission partnered with @OHCHR and @ILO to host an awareness campaign at Madibatlou Middle School in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng.
The key objectives are to:
· Educate learners and educators on the legal framework prohibiting child labour.
· Raise awareness of child labour as a violation of the rights of children.
· Promote school ‑ level prevention, identification, and reporting of child labour.
