The main boat ramp at Lake Edgar Brown in Barnwell County is closed until further notice due to damage. The lake is open and can be accessed through the north landing on Black Road. Please use caution on the north end of the lake as it is shallow in some areas.

Officers and investigators have responded to a boating incident on the Sampit River in Georgetown County. Preliminary information indicates that two boats collided with one fatality. Details remain limited as this is still in the early stages.

They ran millions of miles under New York. Now they’re part of something new.
In 2002, hundreds of retired subway cars were placed off the coast of South Carolina across five reef sites—intentionally creating artificial reefs.
Today, they’re home to fish, coral, and marine life.
The program ended in 2010. The impact didn’t.

Officers and investigators responded to a single-vessel boating accident last night in Charleston County. Preliminary information indicates the vessel departed Shem Creek with seven people on board before striking a dock in the area of Mt. Pleasant.
