A team of graduate students in SCSD and faculty members coordinated a successful community outreach initiative. The PLAY Team lead by Brooke Ott, Dr. Tricia Montgomery, Dr. Mollie Romano & Dr. Lakeisha Johnson provided speech/language screenings for children 6 months to 5 years.

Four students in SCSD assisted Southeastern Therapy Services as they hosted a free Halloween event. The FSU students were an integral part of making the event a success. Southeastern Therapy is one of many community agencies that partner with the FSU Speech and Hearing Clinic.

Bilingual Certificate Program Partners with School in Costa Rica Eleven undergraduate seniors enrolled in the bilingual certificate program in SCSD have been participating in web-based instruction with Spanish-English speaking children in Costa Rica.
Carla Wood and FSU professor Chris Schatschneider published a paper in Reading and Writing:An Interdisciplinary Journal reporting results of a study that examined growth in 824 students written academic word use in response to a 20-week morphology-focused supplemental instruction

Clinical Supervisor Rebecca Greenhill accompanies her team of first year graduate students in speech-language pathology to Sweat Therapy every Monday for Rock Steady Boxing. The clinical education team coaches adults with and without Parkinson’s disease in the community setting.

NSSLHA Raise Funds for Playground! The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association chapter at FSU has raised $1,479 to support the development of the preschool playground outside the Warren building. This has been lead by FSU's Dr. Kim Crass.
