🚨A REMINDER
Club NRL vs. Origin Penalties
• In a regular NRL club game: A Grade 2 shoulder charge typically carries a 3-match suspension (reducible to 2 with an early guilty plea). This is standard per the NRL Judiciary Code. nrl.com
• In Origin/representative matches: Since 2022 rule changes, Grade 1 and Grade 2 offences (including shoulder charges and dangerous contact, but excluding the most reckless high tackles) result in fines instead of suspensions. This protects clubs from losing players and keeps stars available, while still hitting their wallets.
