šŸŽ„ When young people speak, we must listen. Young people are not just beneficiaries of peacebuilding. They are leaders whose lived experiences inform prevention, protection & reintegration efforts. @Horyaalforum @SaveChildrenSO #YPS #UNSCR2250 #CAAC #CAAFAG #VancouverPrinciples

Children associated with armed forces and armed groups (CAAFAG) need more than reintegration support; they need protection before recruitment occurs. The Vancouver Principles strengthen prevention by helping peace actors identify risks early and keep children out of conflict.

Every child deserves a future free from conflict, violence, and recruitment and every child deserves to be heard in shaping that future. #ChildrenAffectedbyArmedConflict #CAAC #VancouverPrinciples #SafeSchoolsDeclaration #SouthSudan #ChildProtection #MeaningfulChildParticipation

Preventing the recruitment of children into armed conflict starts at community level. Parents, teachers, youth leaders, and local authorities play a critical role in creating protective environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive. #ChildProtection #CAAC #CAAFAG

Reintegration is more than a process; it is a community commitment. From reducing stigma to supporting education and livelihoods, communities are essential in helping children rebuild their lives and preventing re-recruitment. #DDR #CAAC #CAAFAG

The most effective solutions for children affected by armed conflict are often found closest to home. Community-based protection mechanisms strengthen prevention, support reintegration, and build lasting resilience for children and families.
3
Community-based child protection mechanisms are often the strongest defence against the recruitment and use of children in armed conflict. When communities are empowered, children are better protected, risks are identified early, and pathways to safety are strengthened.
