📣 FIRST DAY OF VIGIL — STAND FOR BEAGLES Lily, a former research lab beagle survivor, became one of the first to arrive across the road from Marshall BioResources’ this morning in North Rose, New York. As cars passed and trucks entered the facility behind her, Lily stood quietly taking in the smells around her. For many watching, it felt like she could smell the sadness carried by a place where approximately 26,000 beagles remain trapped behind closed doors. The momentum from Ridglan Farms showed the world that people are paying attention. Conversations are growing louder, awareness is spreading, and now it is time to keep that momentum moving forward. These dogs are born into cages. They never chose this life. They need people willing to stand up and be their voice. This vigil is hosted by Beagle Lovers And Rescuers Inc. (BLR), a nonprofit founded by people who opened their homes to former research beagles and refused to stay silent after learning the truth. 🐶 The beagles inside Marshall BioResources cannot speak for themselves. But WE can.

There is nothing James wanted more than to be loved. He looks up at me like this all day, begging to be picked up or hugged. And love was one of many basic needs James was NEVER given at Ridglan Farms. Instead he sat in a cage awaiting a cruel vivisector’s blade. That changes now. That changes this election cycle. He doesn’t know it yet, but the hard part is over. This sweet boy is 1 of 1500 beagles released from Ridglan Farms (a breeding and research facility) and 1 of 30 dogs that came to MN. I am so excited and honored to be a part of his new beginning!

Chester made it out of Ridglan Farms today. This morning, he was still inside a testing facility. Tonight, after two years in a cage, he’s inside a home — with his new mom, @Zoe_Rooster. I’m facing felony charges for rescuing dogs from Ridglan. But watching Chester walk into a home for the first time shows me why it’s all worth it. Dogs like Chester deserve to be safe and loved.
