Actually I feel the same for the current coaching group as I do the players, handicapped by the hand theyβve been dealt. Warren Gatland didnβt become a bad coach over night. These problems are far deeper rooted and an accumulation of poor decision making and lack of understanding and ability to stay ahead of the game. When all the things mentioned in the previous tweet were done better Wales produced - Sam Warburton, Justin Tipuric, Toby Faletau, George North, Jonathan Davies, Jamie Roberts, Dan Biggar, Lydiate the list goes on. All mentored by quality coaches and international foreign players who drove the standards of training and environment the likes of - Regan King, Tito, Rush, Jerry Collins, Molitika, Justin Marshall the list goes on who was the last world class international to come play rugby in Wales. Then compare that to England and Ireland. Also the standard of the academy coaching, rugby and S&C look at the size profile of the previous generation of players compared to our current group, a lot of investment went into these players. For me atm Wales lack size and power of the top international teams but itβs not out there you canβt pick what you havenβt got π€·πΌββοΈ
Gatland has blood on his hands as well not supporting the players through that strike. He came across to me as very smug in the after game interview like someone that knows the WRU don't have the money to fire him so he will stay on and just keep topping up that retirement fund.
