Fernando Tatis Jr. has homered in San Diego for the first time this year.
And it was a game-winner.
The liner over the left-field wall, off a hanging slider from rookie Chase Petty, beat the Reds 5-4 with two outs in the ninth inning.
It was his second homer of the year.

Listed at 160 lbs, Samad Taylor had played in close to 900 minor league games before coming up from AAA last week. He's given the Padres what A.J. Preller anticipated, playing small ball and defending well in LF. No point in reading more into it.

From the Padres tonight, we got a candidate for their weirdest game of the year. Their hitters went 3 for 20 with runners in scoring position. Their pitchers threw 219 pitches over the 11 innings -- way more than their total in the other two extras and every regulation game.
