⚠️⚠️𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗦 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁‑𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗱 [𝗔𝗦-𝟭𝟲𝟳] 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. In AS‑167, NGET is seeking to shift post‑consent DCO decision‑making to a hypothetical DESNZ unit that does not yet exist and has no defined powers, procedures or safeguards. Although the Government has said such a unit may in future support nuclear and electricity networks projects, it remains entirely prospective and untested and certainly not a basis for rewriting a live DCO. Embedding this undefined body into Sea Link would sideline Suffolk’s local authorities and give NGET the ability to choose, “in each case”, who signs off on their mitigation. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗖𝗢 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. It is another example of NGET using stealth to avoid negotiating fair, locally accountable Requirements with our councils. If allowed, it would set a dangerous precedent for LionLink and every future project. SEAS is calling for [AS‑167] to be removed from the Examination in full. ⚠️⚠️ nsip-documents.planninginspe…

⚠️⚠️Sea Link – Have Your Final Say for Deadline 7⚠️⚠️ We urge all those who signed up as an "Interested Party" to submit any final outstanding issues that you believe have not been properly addressed or adequately resolved. The deadline is tomorrow — Wednesday 29 April, by midnight. You can submit via the ‘Have Your Say’ button on the Sea Link DCO Planning Inspectorate page. Every submission counts at this final stage of the Examination. One issue that Interested Parties are strongly encouraged to comment on is the Applicant’s proposal AS‑167. This would allow a future, hypothetical DESNZ unit — which does not yet exist and has no defined powers or procedures — to take over the discharge of DCO Requirements. Under this approach, Suffolk’s councils would be sidelined, reduced to consultees with no say in the final decision. This would push aside the people who actually know our communities, our roads, our landscape and the pressures we already live with. It would replace local judgement with an untested approval system that has never been examined. Interested Parties may wish to urge the Examining Authority to reject AS‑167 in full, as it represents a material and unjustified late change to the Examination. national-infrastructure-cons…

🚧🚧Both Friday Street and Yoxford roundabouts were opened on Monday 30th March. There was much traffic congestion as drivers cautiously adjusted to the new layout, road markings, and signage—features that will soon become familiar with regular use. There is still much to do; removal of the old road, landscaping and final connections to the two-village bypass, which is expected to be finished in the Summer.
