Thank you to everyone who attended the SGRT US meeting in Orlando last week.
Two days of clinicians sharing real experiences across simulation, treatment, proton therapy, dose visualization, and beyond. Already looking forward to next year in Nashville! 🎸
Benjamin Ziemer from @ChildrensLA presented a fascinating case study on MapRT and non-coplanar beam delivery for spatially fractionated radiation therapy.
By carefully optimising non-coplanar beam selection, the team achieved superior SFRT dosimetric ratios and lower OAR doses.
Day 2 kicked off with a timely session from Sally Eggleston of Radiation Business Solutions.
Under the 2026 Final Rules, active motion management is now part of higher-complexity treatment codes, a real opportunity for SGRT adoption.
Alisha Chlebik from @ChildrensLA made a strong case for MapRT.
A key highlight was how the team eliminated the need for physical dry runs and opened the door to more complex non-coplanar treatments, all with a negligible impact on therapist workflow.
Josh Naylor from @UHD_NHS presented early clinical results for Beam Guide, one of the recent developments in SGRT.
By projecting a real-time visualization of planned radiation fields directly onto the patient during setup, teams can verify alignment and catch potential errors.
Gantry-induced camera occlusion is one of the real challenges in proton therapy and Mindy Joo and Lei Hu from @InovaHealth showed how extended ROIs offer a reliable solution, with strong intra- and inter-fractional stability and reproducibility.
Dr. Andy Chen from Texas Oncology highlighted how Postural Video has become a core part of their SGRT workflow — reducing time in position and improving setup efficiency, particularly for breast and head & neck patients.
