Three RCS educators named CMA Music Teachers of Excellence
Educators recognized among 30 selected nationwide by the CMA Foundation
September 15, 2025
Three Rutherford County Schools music educators have been recognized as 2025 CMA Music Teachers of Excellence:
Reggie Coleman, band director at Rocky Fork Middle School
Garrett Doo, choir director at Smyrna High School
Nick Efstathiou, band director at Riverdale High School
The CMA Foundation selects 30 teachers each year from Tennessee and across the nation for the honor, which recognizes outstanding music educators who make a significant impact on their students and communities. Each award recipient receives $5,000, split between classroom needs and personal use.
