🟦 US Staffing hours decreased -8.1% sequentially, impacted by Memorial Day holiday-related business closures.
🟦 Prior to the holiday week, the positive sequential growth trends so far this year were consistent with data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics’ June 2026 US Jobs Report that showed five straight months of growth in Temporary Help Services employment.

Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) Senior Vice President of Research Timothy Landhuis discussed these workforce implications with The Journal Record in Oklahoma, drawing on insights from SIA's latest US Staffing Industry Forecast.
“With the amount of investment in data centers right now, we think that that’s definitely a growth area for jobs and for temporary staffing firms,” Landhuis said.

🟦 On a skill segment basis, Industrial occupation hours were up 9% y/y and IT occupation hours were up 3% y/y, while Office/Clerical hours were down 7% y/y.
🟦 We believe industrial staffing is benefiting from some degree of recovery in demand from clients in manufacturing and logistics, as well as demand related to investment in data centers.
🟦 Similarly, we believe demand for professional staffing is rising as clients move forward on projects that had previously been paused as well as launch new projects related to AI readiness and transformation.

Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) Executive Director of Global Research John Nurthen discussed this dynamic with ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) for Mechanical Engineering Magazine.

ALT Temporary help employment continued to grow in April, pointing to a broader improvement in staffing market conditions.
“April marked the fourth month of growth in employment in temporary help services, and combined with other industry data points, suggests that the overall industry trend has finally shifted from one of decline to one of expansion,” said Staffing Industry Analysts Senior Vice President of Research Timothy Landhuis. “As staffing clients move forward with projects and investments, it is a healthy sign that clients are increasing their use of temporary staffing toward levels more consistent with what client industries have used historically.”
