Part of the Civitan mission is to build good citizenship by serving individual and community needs. Recently the Kensington Valley Chapter has been awarded a grant to increase engagement of adults with disabilities within our community. Every second Saturday, from May 9, 2026-September 12, 2026, a free Youth Entrepreneur Market is held in the space just south of BIGGBY Coffee, South Lyon. ANY adult with a disability between the ages of 18-26 years of age are invited to receive vouchers to purchase items from the young entrepreneurs for FREE! The goal is to provide meaningful community involvement for all! Think about it - our adults with disabilities learn/reinforce purchasing skills (which is a win) AND our young entrepreneurs learn customer service skills as they sell their product (which is also a win)! Our team is currently enrolled with 139 walkers, and we may be the team that leads the start of the walk on Sunday. Come and join us!!
