Engines 3, 1, 2, 5, Truck 1, BC2, SMPD and AMR responded to a fully involved vehicle fire located under apartments on the 300 block E Bunny. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and checked for extension above. Cause under investigation. No injuries to report.

On this day 57 years ago, your SMFD lost one of our own. Joseph Alexander passed away due to a medical condition while operating at a structure fire. Rest in Peace brother.

We are happy to present our call stats for 2025. A year full of progress, from adding E6 and joining the RFCC to responding to over 13000 calls. We had a 5.7% increase in call volume. We are happy to serve our community. We wish you all a safe and healthy 2026!

Engines 2, 1, 4, 6, Truck 1, BC2, SMPD and AMR responded to a reported structure fire on the 1600 block of S Broadway. Crews found a small fire in the kitchen and prevented extension. Prevention 5 enroute to investigate. No injuries.

Engines 6, 1, Truck 1, USAR 2, BC2, Guadalupe E81, SBC ME21, SBC BC17, AMR and CHP responded to a train vs fuel hauler at Hwy 1 and Brown. Four people transported to MMC, one with life threatening injuries. Hwy 1 is closed between Hwy 166 and Brown Rd. Please avoid the area.
