Airmen from a downed AH-64 Apache helcopter were rescued by a naval drone from Task Force 59 in the waters off the coast of Oman on June 8, 2026. This is the first ever publically known rescue of downed airmen by a naval drone.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET today at the Commander in Chief’s direction, in response to yesterday’s downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter. The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.

President Trump has named William Pulte to be acting head of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI). Pulte is currently the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and is a solid Trump ally. Pulte had previously owned a construction company and private equity firm and has no high-level national security experience. As the chief intelligence officer he would coordinate among more than a dozen agencies within the intelligence community.
