ALT Featured Library Media Specialist Marianne Fitzgerald - Severna Park High #NationalLibraryWeek Marianne Fitzgerald, our librarian at Severna Park High, goes above and beyond to inspire students to read. From designing inviting displays in the library--such as the “Blind Date With A Book” display--to creating a digital YA book flier displaying dozens of books across all genres to engage even the most reluctant readers, Mrs. Fitzgerald is dedicated to and passionate about her work. Mrs. Fitzgerald is always willing to support teachers with media lessons and activities, ranging from how to search databases for research projects to utilizing the Makers’ Space to make creative student projects come to life. When students head to the media center to browse for books, conduct research, or even just hang out during lunch, Mrs. Fitzgerald meets students with a smile and friendly, approachable attitude that keeps kids coming back.
