Congratulations, Dr Vasavada!
A huge welcome to the #OUfamily to Dr Ashwin Vasavada, a NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory project scientist, who joined us at our Manchester ceremony last Friday. Here's his message to all of our out-of-this-world (sorry 😉) grads crossing the stage this year. 🚀 @OU_STEM

Working on the light gas gun today with @Amy_R_Dugdale ☄️🔫 Here she is rotating the gun to fire vertically - imo this is the coolest bit of the prep for firing because you can really see the scale of the equipment 💪

When I landed on Mars 10 years ago, I aimed to answer an important question: Could Mars have supported ancient life? After some careful analysis, the scientists on my team say yes! So, what does that mean? Hear more about that from my Deputy Project Scientist Abigail Fraeman.

Great audience questions, eg from Prof Monica Grady, & engaging answers from @OlssonKaren to round off this inaugural lecture on the theme of @Astrobiology_OU’s research question, which is, ‘Are we alone in the Universe?’ @Astrobiology_OU @OUCitizenGovern @OpenUniversity @OU_Law

Watch that little cloud!!!
Orchid seeds are so tiny that when released they can be carried on a breeze. In this video I made, seed dispersal looks like a magic spell in the sunlight. Can’t wait for the Sunday broadcast of stories & science about the magic of plants in #TheGreenPlanet.
