Woman-led initiative aimed at promoting psychosocial development of young women & survivors of crime.|Social & Gender Justice Advocacy| ZeroFGM|↪️ @SP4_GIRLs
The attempt to lift the FGM ban in The Gambia isn't an isolated incident, it’s part of a global anti-rights backlash.
We cannot let hard-won rights be dismantled. We must resist, protect gender equality, and stand with the frontlines.
#EndFGM220#feministresistance
At a time when anti-rights backlash is intensifying, feminist solidarity is more critical than ever.
In The Gambia, feminists are actively resisting by:
✊ Building solidarity across movements
🗣️ Challenging misinformation
🤝 Supporting survivors
⚖️ Defending hard-won laws
We’re looking for a creative, committed, and passionate Assistant Programme Officer (Volunteer) to support our programs and community initiatives.
Be part of a movement advancing the rights, safety, and wellbeing of girls and young women.
See Flyer here for details.

Grateful to @af_banjul@FranceoSenegal for their support
Invalidating a woman’s experience of abuse because you personally had a “good” interaction with her abuser is a form of complicity. It centers your comfort over her reality and protects harm instead of confronting it.
Have you applied already?
We are still taking applications, please apply if eligible and share with young women that may find this beneficial.

FGM survivors in practicing communities hold social capital. They can navigate sensitive conversations on FGM, child marriage and menstrual health with a level of cultural relevance that others cannot match. They can convince other mothers and grandmothers to abandon FGM.
#EndFGM
Sexual Assault Awareness Month should center survivors, not silence them.
But what we’re seeing in the Gambia is victim blaming, public scrutiny, and narratives that shift focus away from accountability.
This retraumatizes survivors and normalizes violence.
#SpeakUp against SA🤚🏽
The current discourse surrounding child sexual violence is disturbing. We cannot normalize victim blaming.
The facts remain:
📍 The age of consent is 18.
📍 Abuse is never the child’s fault.
📍 Accountability must be absolute.
We stand for the protection of every child.
IN partnership with @men4equality1 & with the support of @UNICEFGambia, this week, we empowered CSO reps tackling harmful practices like #FGM & child marriage with skills in #GTA
Together, we’re driving change for girls & women!
