This week is #VolunteersWeek (1-7 June). @SSAFA's Prison-In-Reach volunteers support members of the Armed Forces community who are in prison.
For many years, has run a successful scheme for veterans in the criminal justice system (VCJS) throughout the UK. Our SSAFA volunteers make a real difference by providing essential support during these incredibly difficult times.
Here’s some wonderful feedback given to one of our in-reach volunteers: "Thanks Trevor, for your time and help. I’m nervous but also confident I have everything in place to rebuild my life. Thank you for all your support, emails and visits whilst I’ve been at HMP Aylesbury."
Here’s another received by a volunteer supporting an Armed Forces veteran in prison in Northern Ireland: "Without SSAFA in here I don't know what I would have done."
Thank you so much to our amazing volunteers for all they do!

This week is #VolunteersWeek (1-7 June). Meet Sarah Harding, volunteer Caseworker, Community Engagement Volunteer, and Branch Secretary for South East Wales.
Sarah started volunteering for @SSAFA, as she believes that the charity’s principles align with her own, and she wanted to use her life skills to help others.
When asked what she enjoys most about her volunteering experience, Sarah says: "The opportunity to be that person that many of us have needed at some point in life. Making a positive difference just by giving time, support and compassion. If even one person learns about SSAFA and can receive support that positively impacts their life, then the time given is worth it."
Thank you Sarah, and all our volunteers for all you do!
