More titles have been announced for the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival, across Berlinale Special, Panorama, and Berlinale Classics.
Berlinale Special
- “TUTU” (UK) — dir. Sam Pollard: A documentary tracing the public life and political influence of Desmond Tutu, drawing on archival material and testimony from those who worked closely with him.
Berlinale Panorama
- “Safe Exit” (Egypt) — dir. Mohammed Hammand: A young Egyptian security guard contends with the lasting psychological effects of religious and ethnic violence.
- “Paradise” (Canada / France / Ghana) — dir. Jérémy Comte: A burning cargo ship links two families, one in Accra and the other in a small Canadian town.
- “Lady” (Nigeria) — dir. Olive Nwosu: Following its Sundance world premiere, the film follows a Lagos taxi driver whose encounter with a group of sex workers shifts her trajectory.
Berlinale Classics
- “Assarab” (“Mirage”) (Morocco, 1979) — dir. Ahmed Bouanani: A newly restored Moroccan classic following a rural villager chasing opportunity in the city.
