🗣The 2022 Cyprus Institute Summer School on Archaeological Science took place in July, check the Promised website for more: promisedtwinning.cyi.ac.cy/n…
In the frame of the Talos Project @UClouvain, and in collaboration with JA MacGillivray, @APAC of the @STARC_CyI, the @EBSA, @EFALAS and the @Hellenic Ministry of Culture, @AORIFILMS, we are proud to present our first work on the Kouros of Palaikastro at vimeo.com/730071452/a5809fed….
Meet @BaileyFranzoi, a visiting researcher @STARC_CyI and PhD candidate @UMich. Bailey is a (fast-learning!) zooarchaeologist in training! Here she is sorting sheep and goat astragali, an essential skill in Mediterranean zooarchaeology! Happy to share knowledge @CyprusInstitute!
Our colleagues Efthymia Nikita & Mahmoud Mardini of @STARC_CyI have created a FREE resource for young students interested in bioarchaeology. 🦴

A huge undertaking, but quite proud of this project. We made sure to include an interactive 🗺️ and many filters to make life easy when searching for relevant Mediterranean (🇪🇸🇫🇷🇮🇹🇬🇷🇹🇷🇱🇧🇯🇴🇪🇬🇨🇾🇹🇳) Sr Isotope data. Also do send us feedback for improvement.

Next batch of comparative fish specimens and it includes pearly razorfish (see photo)! Not as tasty as #garum but hopefully will produce tasty food for our brains in the form of knowledge about ancient people, environments and their interactions. Yummy!

We've struck gold with all summer interns @STARC_CyI! @EmilyChristophi joined the team (w/ @HeikkilaRaija) just yesterday & is already familiar with #animal#osteology. She’s a fast learner and has studied and marked a goat & a dog skeleton. Appetite for knowledge is unbeatable!
@SACHROFICS reference collection database @STARC_CyI uploaded! Hopefully it's useful to fellow zooarchaeologists & beyond. Have a look & get in touch to use/borrow/exchange:
