#OTS in 1983, Pioneer 10 passed the most distant planet in our solar system, Neptune. Even though this was before Pluto was declassified, at the time Neptune was the furthest because Pluto's unusual orbit brings it closer to the Sun than Neptune at certain times.

Bessie Coleman was determined to fly, and moved to France to make it happen. She became the first African American woman to earn a pilot’s license and continues to inspire pilots around the world. Coleman died at age 34, on this day in 1926.
