ABSOLUTELY! Positive relationships are at the heart of what Clubs do. Clubs also help youth explore college & career opportunities. #AA3PM
Q7: 81% of rural parents agree afterschool programs provide opportunities for children to build life skills. Thinking of the impact of the pandemic on young people, is your program or community placing a greater priority on (or is there a greater demand for) these opportunities?

Exactly this! Parents know their child is safe at the Club and can provide for their family without worrying about where their kid is. #AA3PM
Q6: 74% of rural parents with a child in an afterschool program report that programs are helping them keep their jobs or work more hours. What needs are you seeing among parents in the communities you serve?

Providing affordable programs built intentionally for the communities they serve. And by urging further public support focused on equity and inclusion of every community. #AA3PM

Clubs across the country went digital during COVID to reach youth with STEM projects, exercise classes, homework help, mentors and more in rural areas. Clubs got creative by doing activities outside, daily wellness checks & socially distant home visits. #AA3PM
Q4: Cost, access, and availability of afterschool programs were reported as barriers to participation by rural parents. What are some of the solutions you've implemented or know of to help more kids access afterschool?

Transportation and internet access: bringing kids to the Club or the Club to kids. Affordable, safe ways to travel to programs and digital equity are big barriers to accessing out-of-school time programs. #AA3PM
Q3: #AA3PM data finds that reports of barriers to participation, including the affordability and availability of programs, have increased by double-digit percentage points since 2014 for families in rural communities. What are some of the greatest barriers facing your community?

No. Families saw #OST programs help kids get ahead and provide a safe space to have fun. The need has only grown with COVID impacting kids’ learning. Programs need support from elected leaders to serve every kid #AA3P
Q2: According to #AA3PM data, there are now 4.5 million children in rural communities who are not in an afterschool program, but would be enrolled if a program were available, a 43% increase from 2014. Does this statistic surprise you? Why or why not?
