Last week School Engagement Coordinator Zoe Roberts delivered an assembly for @BirkdalePrep pupils about active travel. Pupils took part in a #WalkAndWheel week, sharing that they had been parking at Tesco on Ecclesall Road and walking up through the Botanical Gardens. ๐ŸŒป ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

#MeersbrookBankPrimary 's #ParkingPatrol was busy yesterday, giving out tickets/information to people parked on pavements or idling their engine. This included a parent who left their engine idling as they said the noise helped their baby get to sleep! Well done #ParkingPatrol!

The Eco Council at @PyebankPE noted the good, the ok & areas to improve during an #ActiveTravel Inspection of local spaces & paths today, highlighting the need for rubbish bins on roads & paths close to school - a big THANK YOU to locals who are already doing their bit! ๐Ÿšฎ

On Monday, Betty (School Travel Engagement Coordinator), did an assembly about active travel at #TotleyAllSaintsPrimary, going class to class to survey pupils current & future travel preferences. She was very glad that two Y6 pupils helped with counting all those hands! ๐Ÿ˜„

#FoxhillPrimaryEcoTeam were total stars today, putting up posters along Keats Rd, to remind parents to turn off their engines, travel actively to school & park sensibly at drop off/pick up - it was a great day in the 2nd of our #CleanAirCrew workshops & look forward to next month

We challenged our Sheffield schools to celebrate the festive season by decorating their School Street planters. Pupils showed off their fantastic creativity with recycled & handmade decorations, with the winning entry created by #CarfieldPrimary Well done everyone! โœจ

The Eco Team at Oughtibridge Primary School have made some brilliant posters displayed on their school railings. These encourage parents and pupils to travel actively where possible and to avoid idling and pavement parking ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

STARS Coordinator Zoe ran a #BeBrightBeSeen assembly at #OughtibridgePrimary about the importance of wearing bright, reflective clothing when it's dark! She also supported the Eco Council to make posters for school railings encouraging pupils & parents to travel actively.

Pupils at #PipworthCommunityPrimary did an #ActiveTravel Inspection to assess the suitability of their school environment for active travel, looking at cycle/scooter parking, suitable places to cross the road, green spaces to enjoy and where there were barriers to active travel

The Nature Group at #AnnsGrovePrimary added some new plants to their planters. They did this whilst wearing hats donated by the #TotleyRiseMethodistChurch Knit & Natter, Craft & Chatter Group, and end up turning a dull day into a colourful one!

Last Friday STARS School Engagement Coordinator Zoe ran a bike session for foundation age pupils at @BankwoodSchool - they had great fun w/ games, practicing their balance & steering... & learning to ride at a young age can develop other motor skills like handwriting earlier!

They discovered that cars parked on pavements, bins & clutter on the pavement & a lack of cycle infrastructure made it harder to travel actively to school, but cycle storage, zebra crossings & local footpaths & parks made it easier & more enjoyable to travel actively ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
