Yn wir.
Wes Streeting says Labour lost because arenโ€™t telling a compelling story about who they are and who theyโ€™re for. No. Voters in Caerffili know who Labour are - a party that takes Wales for granted and refuses to take bold action to improve peopleโ€™s lives.

I respectfully suggest that it is not for a group of English students to tell us in Cymru what we โ€œmustโ€ do.
Great to be out canvassing for @RichCaerphilly & @WelshLabour in the Caerphilly By-election today. Wales must reject nationalism, whether it comes through Plaid or Reform. Only Labour will deliver for Wales. ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ๐ŸŒน

I trust when this is over the utter mendacity of @WelshLabourโ€™s campaigning - the dishonest memes, the dodgy bar charts - will not be forgotten. This is a party that patronises and insults Welsh voters, who deserve better
Every vote counts in this by-election. Vote Welsh Labour today to stop Reform UK.

A certain serendipity to the reform vote thereโ€ฆ

I think @WelshLabour inadvertently told us just what they think is good enough for voters in Caerffili
Welsh Labour have just posted this on their official social media.

I wonder whether a Home Secretary dog-whistling about Leave to Remain, letting Reform set the agenda once again, has any idea how many unpaid hours public sector professionals - teachers, doctors, nurses - work.
Deplorable. Forcing people who want to live and work in the UK to undertake compulsory unpaid labour. This is a dark path Labour is taking down. But there IS an alternative. Join me in building a welcoming country. join.greenparty.org.uk/

It may just be me, and I doubt that any of Starmerโ€™s team are old enough to remember the Moonies, butโ€ฆ Doesnโ€™t this look and feel rather, well, cultish?
Let's do this.

My report on last weekendโ€™s Cardiff Transformed conference - a day of hopeful political debate at a time when Welsh politics is in ferment. With @ZackPolanski @LeanneWood @BethWinterCynon and many more.

This doesnโ€™t actually mean anything at all, does it. A randomly-generated word-salad.
We face a choice: renewal or decline. Letโ€™s choose unity over grievance, progress over division. Britainโ€™s best days are ahead โ€” and my government is moving forward with purpose.

A huge thank you to @RepRaskin for doing what the UKโ€™s mainstream media and politicians have been too timid or complicit to do - taking down Farage and exposing him as Putin and MAGAโ€™s stooge.
For a man who fashions himself a free speech martyr, Mr. Farage seems most at home with Putin and the autocrats of the world. In Congress he testified freely, calling the UK an โ€œauthoritarianโ€ regime but left before all Members could question him so he could be on his TV show!

As the Treasurer and Trustee of a small musical charity I have just been told by @LloydsBank (2024 gross profit ยฃ6.3bn) that they will be levying charges on our accounts from October. Position being actively considered - for my personal accounts too.

It looks as if I for one had underestimated the imminence of war with Oceania.

As the top Reform candidate on a constituency list, she will almost certainly have a seat in the next Senedd - as a Tory candidate she probably wouldnโ€™t. I wonder how far that was a factor in her decision - and in the manner of her departure from the Tories.

I strongly suggest that anyone here in Cymru thinking of voting Reform look at the comments under this post to learn what Reform supporters really think of Wales and the Welsh people.

Excellent piece, but it doesnโ€™t go far enough. If we are serious about making an intellectually convincing economic case for #annibyniaeth - we have got to get past the MMT woo. Wales deserves better than economic faddism.
In presenting the case for independence, the question of currency is the most important and needs careful consideration, not least because it will be fundamental to future economic progress and external trade โœ๏ธDr John Ball wp.me/p8Mk4U-12Ux

I sometimes think that there is no more insidious poverty in Cymru than the poverty of imagination, poverty of ambition, poverty of courage that defines @WelshLabour. We deserve so much better.
โ€œIf Wales were independent, it would be extremely poor.โ€ Welsh First Minister @Eluned_Morgan says the country wouldnโ€™t survive outside the UK - and must grow its economy. @lewis_goodall

One of the most important reasons why I support #annibyniaeth is that I believe that the Union keeps us poor and dependent on Westminster handouts insufficient for a decent civic society. Independence is an economic necessity. The foundation stone of a generous, wealthy Cymru.

Is it just me, or does that pic of @WelshLabour conference look as if y ddraig goch has had enough of being patronised and has her claw raised ready to pull Starmer off the stage?
A stronger union. A richer country. Better opportunities. With two Labour governments, working together for the people of Wales, we will deliver a brighter future for everyone.
