Sac State awarded $1 million in scholarships to early childhood education students, including Silvia Figueroa, a doctoral candidate in the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program. Congratulations to all recipients! #SacStateEdD #EarlyChildhoodEducation #SingersUp
Congratulations to 93 future educators who are receiving some help paying for their education at Sac State! They each are recipients of scholarships averaging $10,000 through the College of Education's Innovation Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Education. They'll be transforming early education in Sacramento, from preschool through third grade. A special event was held Friday to honor the scholars with their families in attendance. President @DrLukeWood spoke on the importance of building a strong foundation in education, along with Sacramento @MayorMcCarty, who was instrumental in helping secure the funding during his time as assemblymember. Together, we're building a brighter future for Sacramento's youngest learners. Stingers Up! 📸 Sacramento State/Andrea Price

With an incoming presidential administration promising hardline immigration policies, Sacramento State’s approximately 500-600 undocumented students face renewed challenges on their path to graduation. In the latest episode of “Beyond J,” Sac State Dreamer Resource Center coordinator Kim Gomez and Associate Professor Basia Ellis discuss the post-election mood and the support available at Sac State for these students and their families. “It’s good for incoming students to see that we’re not hiding,” Gomez says. “We have so many resources available.” 🐝 Watch the full episode here: sacstate.me/4gkJRjP 🎧 Listen to Beyond J on Apple, Spotify and YouTube or at csus.edu/beyondj 🎙️ New episodes every two weeks on Tuesdays throughout the semester.
