We all need to understand the difference between a friend and a passenger, and the same goes for a wife and a passenger. This isn’t a justification for wrongdoing, but mistaking a passenger for a friend or wife can cause more damage than confronting an obvious enemy. Passengers board for a reason. Some disembark once their destination is reached, while others leave as soon as they realise they won’t get what they want. Some linger so long that they appear loyal. They become familiar, supportive and deeply involved in your journey, but their commitment was never to you; it was to an outcome. Once they achieve their goal or realise they won’t, they leave. Before they depart, many will take whatever value they can. If they can’t leave with the treasure, they might take the wallet. If there’s no money inside, they’ll leave you with the burden of replacing the cards and recovering what was lost. The most dangerous passengers aren’t the ones who openly declare themselves. They’re the ones who get so close that you mistake them for your best friend.  Because many are naturally narcissistic, they rarely leave quietly. Instead, they make you feel guilty, blaming you for being too cautious, too slow, too difficult or for not making the journey comfortable enough for them.  No matter what you do, they’ll eventually leave, though they might repent along the way. A wife who genuinely intends to spend a lifetime journey with you won’t be eager to expose your flaws to the world. A true friend won’t abandon you simply because you didn’t meet an expectation. The painful truth is that many people we call friends were never truly friends at all. They were passengers, as my friend would call them.

I so much welcome this announcement. He is the best for the job in the current ADC as we have it. He is a household name from South to North, and he will compliment H.E @atiku on the ticket. I can't wait for the campaign to start! Let's go ADC! 🤝
ADC PICKS RT. HON. CHIBUIKE ROTIMI AMAECHI AS ATIKU’S RUNNING MATE. The National Leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), after extensive consultations with party leaders, coalition partners, youth and women stakeholders, and representatives of all geopolitical zones, is proud to announce that the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has been selected as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of our great party for the 2027 Presidential Election. This recommendation follows the successful conclusion of the ADC Presidential Primaries, in which Rt. Hon. Amaechi emerged as the runner-up, earning widespread support from party members across the federation and demonstrating his enduring appeal as one of Nigeria's most experienced and respected political leaders. The proposed partnership between His Excellency Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi represents more than a political alliance; it is the coming together of two tested statesmen with the experience, national reach, and leadership capacity required to rescue Nigeria from its current challenges and reposition the country for a new era of prosperity, security, and inclusive development. Rt. Hon. Amaechi brings to this ticket one of the most comprehensive public service records in contemporary Nigerian politics. His experience spans all major pillars of democratic governance. He served with distinction as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, making him one of the longest-serving legislative leaders in Nigeria's Fourth Republic. He subsequently served two terms as Governor of Rivers State, where he oversaw significant investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and public sector reforms. At the national level, he served as Minister of Transportation, leading some of the most ambitious transportation and rail modernization initiatives in Nigeria's history. Few political leaders in Nigeria today possess such extensive and balanced experience across both the legislative and executive arms of government. This depth of experience will be invaluable in supporting the next ADC administration from day one. Beyond his impressive credentials, Rt. Hon. Amaechi strengthens the ticket strategically. His political influence across the South-South and wider Southern Nigeria, his reputation as a reform-minded administrator, and his proven ability to build coalitions across political, ethnic, and regional lines make him uniquely positioned to complement the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar. Together, Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi embody a truly national ticket—one that bridges regions, generations, and political traditions. Their combined experience in governance, economic management, public administration, party organization, and nation-building offers Nigerians a credible and compelling alternative capable of restoring confidence in government and accelerating national development. At a time when millions of Nigerians are demanding competent leadership, economic revival, job creation, security, and national unity, the Atiku-Amaechi ticket sends a clear message: the ADC is prepared to govern, prepared to unite the nation, and prepared to deliver results. The leadership of the ADC is confident that this partnership will energize our growing coalition, inspire hope among Nigerians, and provide the leadership necessary to build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Federal Republic of Nigeria. The ADC therefore calls on all party members, coalition partners, civil society organizations, youth groups, women leaders, and Nigerians of goodwill to join us as we embark on this historic journey to renew our nation and secure a better future for generations to come. Signed: Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi National Publicity Secretary African Democratic Congress (ADC)

Update III: Four days ago, I announced the facilitation of extra blocks of classrooms in three public schools in Kaduna North Federal Constituency. I am pleased to announce that the construction of the block of classrooms in Government Secondary School, (Asma’u Makarfi), in Unguwar Shanu/Abakpa Ward has commenced. We will be naming the block of classrooms after the late Mallam Salihijo Ahmed, a foremost consultant to Petroleum Development Fund(PTF), under the leadership of late President Muhammadu Buhari during the military government of the late General Sani Abacha. Originally from Adamawa, he lived in Kaduna and under his direction and others including our mother, Dr. Amina Mohammed of the United Nations, the PTF directly improved the lives of the average Nigerian on an unprecedented scale. He sadly passed away in 1999 but we continue to celebrate this father figure and appreciate his legacies as one of the early bold reformers to emerge from our beloved state. May Almighty Allah bless his gentle soul. His children, continue to shine and thrive. My elder brother, Ahmed (Modi) Salihijo, the former Executive Secretary of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and a current aspirant for the House of Reps in Adamawa State. One of his daughters, a former schoolmate of mine in Kaduna, Lomè and Wales, Zainab Salihijo is one of the most successful entrepreneurs from the North. We are proud of all she does for young man and she is gem from Kaduna North in our eyes. Her Pink Fleur brand continues to inspire numerous young women interested in fashion and creativity. All his children thriving in their various interests. I would like to thank my team of advisers supervising the project. I must always commend the contractor (whom I have never met) for moving swiftly. As we did with LEA Rafin Guza, Government Secondary School, Unguwar Rimi, we will end up beautifying the school by adding some art work and greenery in partnership with local artists and gardeners. Attached are some pictures of the ongoing work in this school. I urge the public, particularly the people of Unguwar Shanu/Abakpa Ward to also keep an eye and report to us if the need arises. Thank you. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. June 11, 2026.

The refusal or continuation of restrictive bail conditions cannot be justified in abstract terms alone. Under Sections 35 and 36(5) of the Constitution, alongside the provisions of the ACJA 2015, liberty is the default position and any limitation must be grounded on clear, objective and risk-based facts. Where no adverse conduct has been demonstrated, no breach of bail, no interference with investigation or witnesses, and no flight risk the continued imposition of strict or oppressive bail terms becomes difficult to justify in law. Bail is not punitive, and it cannot be sustained merely on assumption or general allegation in the absence of supporting factual circumstances. Accordingly, even where the State asserts insufficiency of evidence at a stage, what the court must still interrogate is whether there exists any concrete factual basis to maintain restrictive conditions. In the absence of such facts, the constitutional presumption of liberty under Section 36(5) must prevail, and bail conditions ought to be varied to ensure they remain reasonable, proportionate, and consistent with the purpose of securing attendance in court, not punishment.
#BreakingUpdate FROM KADUNA STATE HIGH COURT BAIL DENIED AGAIN!! ▪︎ Judge says there are no new facts in fresh bail application. ▪︎ Orders accelerated hearing. Quite Curious! Further Details Later.
