The people building the data centers are locusts. They rely on "Mormon nice" people to fall for their lies about "closed loop," and the "free market." They are going to get tax breaks for themselves and loot Utah. This isn't a guess. It's what they do everywhere.
From my understanding, the Utah Data center if projected to generate $250 million annually in tax revenue to Box Elder County and MIDA for the State.
This would be much more palatable for everyone if:
1. Use the money to pay the property taxes indefinitely for the current residents of Box Elder County (not new move ins)
2. The remainder is used to build new pipelines and buy water rights from other states that have a surplus, to refill all of our reservoirs.
Most people would support this.
