A peaceful protest led by CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby to the ED Headquarters in New Delhi against the targeted attack on Polit Bureau member and Opposition Leader of Keralam Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan was stopped by the Delhi Police. আজ সুপ্রিম কোর্টের রায়ে স্পষ্ট জানানো হয়েছে, SIR- এ বা ভোটার লিস্টে নাম থাকা বা না থাকার সঙ্গে নাগরিকত্বের কোনো সম্পর্ক নেই। নাগরিকত্ব সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন বিষয়। নাগরিকত্ব যাচাইয়ের নির্দিষ্ট আইনের ভিত্তিতেই কেবল নির্দিষ্ট সরকারি দপ্তর কোনো ব্যক্তিকে অনাগরিক ঘোষণা করতে পারে; তার সঙ্গে SIR-কে এক করা যাবে না। সুপ্রিম কোর্টের এই লড়াইয়ে সামিল ছিলেন আইনজীবী বিকাশরজ্ঞন ভট্টাচার্য, ফিরদৌস শামিম , সব‍্যসাচী চ্যার্টাজি ও আরো অনেকে।
