Welcome home, Coach Marque Carrington.
Cary High Hall of Famer and 1995 State Champion returns to lead our program as Head Varsity Coach. With 20 years of coaching experience, he’s back where it all began—ready to build the next chapter. 🏀💚
Coach Cal just calling a spade a spade. 🧢 off to the administration at HPU but this is a High Major program competing in a Low Major league. Makes what @markprosser15 and @Winthrop_MBB did this season even more special than ANYONE is giving credit for!
To Coach Cal’s point, High Point is a mid-major in the metrics. Not in the money.
I’ve called numerous games at High Point. It is a gated campus with a country club vibe. Its on-campus facility is a mini-NBA arena, unmatched at their level, and better than many in the power conferences.
The investment in the program allows them to mitigate churn by retaining some talent and replenishing the rest.
This is High Point:
Each of the four mid-majors that have advanced to the second round had NIL budgets near or north of $3M this year.
Still have to spend money to make money.
Flynn Clayman: "High Point and Miami (Ohio) are 2-0 in Quad 1 games. We couldn't get games. They couldn't get games. Akron couldn't get games. UNCW couldn't get games. Belmont couldn't get games. We won 22 of our 23 last games, and we didn't move up one spot in the metrics..."
Yes this is significant @JonRothstein considering he’s making 2 to 3x what the ENTIRE roster for the 1st Place in the Big South @WUEagles are working with. #NCAA
Source: High Point's Cam'Ron Fletcher (personal) will be returning to action on Thursday against Presbyterian.
Has not played since 12/31.
Averages 16.5 PPG and 7.8 RPG.
Significant Big South news.

I am extremely blessed to announce my commitment to play baseball at the collegiate level at Manhattan University. I would like to start by thanking God for guiding me every step of the way and surrounding me with all the amazing people who have helped me get to this point. Next I would like to thank my parents and grandparents for being my biggest supporters. Thank you for all of the time and energy you have given to my goal of playing baseball at the next level. I would also like to thank all of the coaches who have dedicated their time to making me a better person on and off the field. Lastly I would like to thank Coach Rosen and the whole staff at Manhattan University for believing in me since day one. I am proud to be a Jasper.
