it is a fundamental failure of society for one man to be able to amass such sickening levels of wealth as 673 million people across the world go hungry every single day.

From doing a presentation on journalism to children at @BurtonPidseaPS this morning to this later in the afternoon - another busy but hugely fulfilling day. I 💚 this job
Members of @HMCGWithernsea have been presented with special commendations for their actions during the seafront tragedy in January. The certificates, signed by @grahamstuart MP along with a letter of appreciation sent on behalf of the Prime Minster, were presented by Mr Stuart near the Pier Towers this afternoon. Mr Stuart thanked the team on behalf of the community, saying: “When everyone else is moving away from danger, you are moving towards it.” Station officer Ann Bell said: “This is an important recognition of efforts of the team during the initial rescue phase, the sustained commitment during the following 48 hours, and also the following weeks when we were tasked to several well-intentioned false alarms and then finally to Grace’s recovery.” More in next week's edition. 📷 John Prince

HULL CITY: Premier League @HullCity have revealed their new home kit for the 2026/27 season — which pays homage to the thick stripes of the 1978/79 season and features the HCAFC lettered logo for the first time in nearly 50 years. #hcafc #premierleague thehullstory.com/allarticles…

There was a lot of media interest in this ahead of the event. Who went the full eight miles, eh? Eh?! 😂
More than 70 pilgrims joined the Bishop of Hull, the Rt Rev Dr Eleanor Sanderson, and Rev Philip West today for a special pilgrimage to Spurn Point in honour of St Wilgils. The group made the journey on Saturday, June 6, stopping along the eight-mile route for prayers and moments of silent reflection before reaching the Point. St Wilgils, a seventh-century Anglo-Saxon hermit, dedicated his life to prayer and is credited with helping revive Christianity in East Yorkshire. The pilgrimage offered a chance to reflect on the area’s rich Christian heritage while enjoying one of the region’s most remarkable landscapes. 📷 Sam Hawcroft
