Amazing presentation @BillWongOT, lots to think about and act upon in order to involve more service uses and those with lived experience in research #OTEurope2024
A massive well done to @sarahjoOT on her presentation. Presenting her emergent themes for her PhD. An insightful and interesting piece of research to explore co-occupations and occupational identities of new mothers @HuddersfieldUni@Hudds_Uni_OT
Fantastic feedback from our placement providers regarding the ideas and inspiration that students can offer service areas, placements are mutually beneficial @Hudds_Uni_OT 👏🏻🙌🏻
We launched our Wellbeing Through Activity group following input from @Hudds_Uni_OT students to adapt it for people with a learning disability @MOHOspark @allofusinmind@swypft@swypftOT 🙌🏻 Session 1 done!
This #iwd24 I want to acknowledge the strength of the 1 in 10 women who are diagnosed with #endometriosis. Endo impacts every aspect of a woman's life & occupations but it is significantly under researched. I am not as active on here but to learn more please follow on insta

Just heard that @TuftsOT have extended their deadline for the PP masters programs. I cannot rate this program highly enough, it was one of the best years of my life. If your thinking about a masters or wanting to make a move to 🇺🇸 #occupationaltherapy
I'm emailing this survey around to services yet its surprising to see how many I am struggling to contact because I can only see a phone numbers which isn't accessible for me!!

Well done to our 1st yr OT students who made this video following a lecture on the History of OT where we discussed the impact and legacy of Dr Elizabeth Casson & the work of the @ElizabethCasso1, it was also a nice excuse to talk about how the trust has enhanced my own career.
A huge congratulations and shout out to everyone @HuddersfieldUni, especially @VikkiBarryOT who is course leader for @Hudds_Uni_OT degree apprenticeship program. Vikki is instrumental to the success and development of the program, it’s a privilege to work alongside you Vikki ❤️
Very proud of our first year students who are finalists for this video competition ❤️ please stop by stand F50 to view their hard work. #OT2023@Hudds_Uni_OT@HuddersfieldUni
Saw a patient in clinic - had waited >12 months
Had a scan which showed an endometrioma at the time of referral.
Was still told by many healthcare professionals it was all in her head.
She has had to wait to see me to be told she has endometriosis and cried with relief.
We need to do better!
#Endometriosis
What are the priorities for #endometriosis care in the UK?
Number 1 is diagnosis
Statistics suggest 1 in 10 women have endo - however this should say at least 1 in 10
Unfortunately diagnosis still takes on average 8 years.
How we improve this? Increase awareness & education👇
Around one in ten women in the UK have endometriosis, according to @EndometriosisUK.
Sky reporter @charline_bm is one of them. She spent years being told the pain she was suffering was normal 👇
Perfect end to #OTweek23, hearing from one of our 3rd year undergraduate OT students about their experiences of the occupation of studying and some very helpful tips on how to manage, balance and engage meaningfully in a variety of occupations while studying.
As Occupational Therapy (OT) week comes to a close, we caught up with @Hud_HHS OT student Claudine.
In this blog, she reflects on lessons her course has taught her and shares her top tips for managing your studies: hud.ac/qvw@theRCOT

This #OTWeek23 I’ve been reflecting on my occupations, particularly how they are impacted by endometriosis. I can’t think of a single occupation which is not impacted. 1 in 10 have endo, the same prevalence as diabetes/asthma but how many OTs know about #endometriosis@theRCOT
