I can’t believe all the things CUPE members, locals, and the provincial division did in 2025. We could make a hundred of these videos! It’s been an amazing year, and I’m exciting to keep moving forward in 2026!

The renewal of $10-a-day childcare is a victory for CUPE, childcare workers, families, and community allies. After many months of advocating, campaigning, mobilizing, and fighting, we forced Scott Moe to finally grab a pen and sign the deal.

These CUPE members work for the City of Saskaton and they love their jobs. But the city’s plan to contract out the Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre means their jobs β€” and the public’s control over programming, hours of operation, and quality of services β€” will be gone.

CUPE Saskatchewan’s Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Conference is an important event for our union, and part of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation. Thank you to the organizers: Council Committee members John Brady McDonald, Wanda Gibson, Jodi Gosselin, and Louise Watson.

If Scott Moe does not sign a childcare deal in the next 151 days, $10-a-day childcare will be dead in Saskatchewan.

This morning, members of CUPE Saskatchewan’s Committee Against Racism and Discrimination joined community allies at the Legislature to mark a sordid anniversary. 2 years ago, Scott Moe pre-emptively used the Notwithstanding Clause to suspend the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

At the time, we said Scott Moe’s attack on rights would be seen as a green light for his government and other right-wing governments to do it again β€” such as using the Notwithstanding Clause to suspend the rights of workers to bargain, and strike.

Well, that’s exactly what Danielle Smith recently did in Alberta. Today we delivered petitions to Repeal Bill 137. We will continue our efforts to fight back against Scott Moe in the defence of basic rights and human decency. βœŠπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

Today I joined CUPE National President Mark Hancock and healthcare workers from CUPE Local 5430, SEIU-West, and SGEU at the Legislature. We met with Carla Beck, held a press conference, and watched Question Period. CUPE’s healthcare workers haven’t had a raise in 3.5 years.

Scott Moe’s healthcare system is in crisis, but you wouldn’t know it from today’s Throne Speech. No plan to fix his retention crisis, no plan to end healthcare closures, no plan to give workers a raise. Scott Moe’s final Throne Speech as premier badly missed the mark.

When public services are contracted out β€” to non-profits or for-profit organizations β€” residents lose direct control over service quality and accountability. CUPE members are highly skilled, certified, and have years of experience. There is no reason to outsource city services.

Hello everyone! πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ CUPE’s national convention brings together thousands of members from across the country. We set the direction of our union; a union that is strong and growing and fighting back β€” and winning.

Low wages are not inevitable β€” they are the result of choices by employers and politicians. There is one person in Saskatchewan who could choose, today, to give healthcare workers a real raise and a fair deal. That person’s name is Scott Moe.

We popped in to see Sask. Party MLA Travis Keisig in Balcarres to drop off letters written to him by healthcare workers from his own community about the sorry state of rural healthcare, and the lack of a fair deal for workers. Wouldn’t you know it… he wasn’t at work!

The countdown has begun. If Scott Moe does not sign a deal with the federal government within six months, $10-a-day childcare is dead in Saskatchewan.

Our sister union in the Philippines is called COURAGE, and @CUPEsask has been a partner for many years. We were honoured to host their president, Santiago. We visited members in Regina, Weyburn, and Saskatoon from healthcare, universities, libraries, education, & municipalities.
