Aside from the fact that this opinion is yours to hold, Blessing, I am quite surprised at some statements you chun out.
For a certain, smarter things has been said by you than you recent political write ups.
I have carefully studied what you do, how you do it and a few concepts comes close to mind:
Preemptive victimhood — When person attacks or provokes someone, then immediately positions themselves as the victim in anticipation of a response. This frames any rebuttal as aggression. Your Modus.
Poisoning the well — A rhetorical fallacy where someone discredits an opponent before the opponent speaks. By telling others that your response will be insulting or unreasonable, they prejudice the audience against anything you say afterward. You’ve gotten so well at this, I bet you’ve been getting a lot of private coaching from folks like Japhet.
Gaslighting (partially) — If the person subsequently portrays your reasonable response as evidence that you are the problem, despite their own provocation, elements of gaslighting may be present.
Reactive abuse — This one is psychologically inclined. One person provokes another or sets of people repeatedly and then highlights the victim’s emotional reaction as proof that the victim is the abusive or unreasonable one. Something you truly have the bandwidth for.
Narrative framing or impression management — Deliberately shaping how others will interpret future events before those events occur. I give you A1 here.
Of these, “poisoning the well” is probably the most accurate description of your communication tactic itself, while “reactive abuse” best captures your larger manipulation strategy where someone provokes a reaction and then uses that reaction against you.
On a lighter note, it is FALLACY to say a two term governor, a former Capital Market Leader, a former Banking leader, an entrepreneur, employer of labour and a business man whose businesses predates your conception, does not understand governance.
Even Tinubu I dare say can never say this.
I sincerely look forward to the days you’d be as smart as you’re aggressive, till then I’d advise you take a chill pill and reflect on how you want to communicate your opposition of Mr. Obi.
It’s a free advice use it.
Aside from his asinine supporters on here, this has been my issue with him from day one.
I’ve listened to a lot of his interviews, and no, not agenda-driven edits, but full conversations. I’ve sat through him discussing the economy, his plans for it, and even his understanding of the structure of government and how it works. Each time, I’ve come away underwhelmed, and that’s me being charitable.
I completely understand the burning desire to remove the government of the day, as well as the emotional and empathetic appeal he brings. But leading a multifaceted, highly complex emerging economy like Nigeria requires more than good intentions and public sympathy.
Yet every time you point that out, a swarm of witless cretins floods your mentions with insults and abuse, as though that will somehow change your assessment or translate into votes at the ballot box.
In any case, I wish all the candidates the very best come 2027. May the best ideas win, and may Nigeria be great again.
