Didn’t get a funding application so I have space to take on more projects in late august and September. If anyone hears of any writing retreats, rnds, play development or teaching… I’d be very interested…
Someone said to me the other day that being a producer is a thankless job, that being a punching bag was just part of it... all of a sudden I'm seeing it everywhere... HELL I was one of the people stepping up to the bag more than once in my career...
but the current system in all its complexity isn't set up for that, THAT is what is responsible for the issues, producers alone aren't responsible for a system that pays poorly and expects too much... we all are!!
(Also, just to be super clear, I've not read that article, nor am I making a comment on it specifically, its just the most recent in a few similar comments I've seen and heard recently that I just happen to screen shot)
