A woman lost her job of 33 years for standing on her faith — and a jury just handed her $12.7 million. Lisa Domski, a Catholic IT specialist, was fired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan in January 2022 after the company denied her religious exemption request to their COVID-19 vaccine mandate. She argued the vaccines violated her sincerely held beliefs because they were developed using fetal cells. She sued in 2023, alleging religious discrimination under the Civil Rights Act of 1964. A federal jury sided with her, awarding $10 million in punitive damages, over $1.3 million in lost future wages, and $1 million in noneconomic damages. This case set a precedent. When a corporation ignores a written statement of faith, dismisses 33 years of loyalty, and fires someone without even contacting their pastor — that is not policy enforcement. That is religious discrimination. Scripture has always been clear: “There is neither slave nor free... for you are all one in Christ Jesus." — Galatians 3:28.
