I am very proud of our paper, led by @DavidGillMarine.
Implementing a mix of MPA types based on our findings could result in more equitable outcomes for people, while also achieving greater conservation gains.
Check it out: pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pna…
Our new #PNAS paper comparing different types of marine protected areas (MPAs) shows that well-managed fished MPAs can provide strong conservation benefits, even similar to no-fishing MPAs

If you work on marine aquaculture management or policy in the U.S., you'll want to check out our new State Marine Aquaculture Policy Dashboard. bit.ly/495MphM to explore policy info across the 23 coastal states. Join our webinar to learn more bit.ly/4b4oTn0
Very excited to see this paper out - read Jenn's thread to learn more about what we found about spatial variation in the ecosystem services provided by seagrass beds.
New paper incoming from @bess_ruff ! Bess and team explore whether existing policy and legislative frameworks are prepared to manage diversifying methods of marine farming. Link here: authors.elsevier.com/a/1h960…
Check out this paper where we synthesize and harmonize the large collection of MPA design guidelines in the scientific literature. Awesome work leading this effort @echelle_burns!
We developed a set of synthesized marine protected area design guidelines to help streamline conservation planning and decision making to achieve desired objectives. Read the paper in @ConservationSP and check out the summary below 🧵conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.c…

Excited to share this paper, led by @ThinkDeepReef, where we explore the broad diversity of fishery restrictions used in #MarineProtectedAreas around the world to help balance conservation and local resource use goals ⬇️
New paper! We discuss how #MarineProtectedAreas (#MPAs) with diverse fishing restrictions achieve gains for nature. We recommend that countries blend locally-appropriate protection levels — from full to partial protection — to achieve conservation goals. cc to #IMPAC5 👇🧵(1/9)
