The recording studio is being re-designed by our behavioural team (@SashaNewar and Sixue Li) to record bat vocalizations - it was originally built by @EllaLatt! In the meantime - we have a rubber bat and a speaker playing social calls for the kids to listen to!

So it turns out - I will be presenting my work on gliding mammals tonight instead of Jeff's planned talk!! The event will be at the same place and same time - hope to see some familiar and unfamiliar faces to learn about ultrasound and ultraviolet in some ultracool animals 💜

New paper out in Avian Conservation and Ecology! 🦃 This is the first empirical estimate of wild turkey population size since their reintroduction into the province in the 1980’s! Spoiler alert: there are fewer turkeys than we thought, but still a lot.
