It's been a month since this tweet and my stance on Cameron Boozer hasn't changed, if anything, I've only felt more confident with it. If you want to hear more about why that is then my evaluation on Substack is out and linked in my reply.
I've been deeply considering Boozer's case for the number one spot over the last few weeks, one that revolves around his future as a shooter and I was starting to see the vision but upon further examination...nah y'all. I still think the sheets heavily misrepresent this prospect

Wemby's dark academia bad boy gimmick this year was completely insufferable and he needs to permanently retire it and just be normal he isn't charismatic enough to be a character

I don't care how much he dribbles on a team full of non-creators, I don't care about his defensive reputation and I don't care how you feel about his regular season production. The best player in the world just led a historic championship run. If you feel otherwise, re-evaluate.
I'll see how I feel when the Finals are done with but Jalen Brunson is the best offensive player in a playoff environment that you can ask for and wasn't involved in a single defensive action as the Knicks got a Finals win. Why's he not the best in the world?

It's wild that Jose Alvarado has been good for so many years now and is still being used as a backup, has no team called the Pels to try and snag him for a more meaningful, starting spot?

Brunson is winning them crunch-time games (outside of G3, where he was pooped and consequently wasn't creating space/unable to drive vs hedges) by being able to generate a 0.9PPP shot ad nauseam on one of the most inefficient BUT easiest to set up playtypes (top of key isolation)

I could write a whole thinkpiece on why Brunson "emptying the clip" has been essential for the Knicks' lead in the Finals but I think the fact that the Spurs saw him go 12-31 on 1v1 coverage but still felt the need to send the house at him in G2 says it all.

Josh Hart is probably the best below 6-5 rebounder since Jason Kidd at maintaining his posture on vertical jumps with a lean and using his strong lower back/core strength to control his reach at various angles. Even after lands, next movement is seamless.

He's the best playoff performer in the entire sport, something that should guarantee at least BITW conversation and nobody cares because they have an inaccurate agenda to get off. The future will look back on the discourse surrounding him and laugh.

If you, hand on the bible, think that KAT is better for whatever reason then you have to rethink how you analyze the game. They are in different stratospheres. KAT vs OG is the better conversation to have.

One of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life is people act like there's none or that it's a short list when anyone that has a high BMI has put clamps on Wemby all season long.
Who are the true Wemby stoppers in the league?

Spurs have to focus on getting KAT in foul trouble and obliterating the minutes when he's off the floor because I don't know if they'll have a counter for how much he spaces out Wemby. His lack of feel is exposed against lineups where he can't roam off anybody.

This series doesn't change my perspective that SGA is BITW but even Spurs defense notwithstanding there were just so many times I thought his process was completely garbage, lack of off ball activity, paltry effort on the D glass passing lanes, destroyed by Castle in pnr

People actually think that Wemby is just deciding not to go in the paint and get free points every possession instead of "hey, maybe the Thunder have a gameplan to stop that!". It's easy to assume that brain cells are becoming extinct at this point.

Wemby went 0/4 on his first 2PT attempts, couldn't get to the rim on any of them and his intermediate shotmaking is a work in progress. Can't say that the Spurs didn't try to get him going but his self creation is very far behind for a superstar. JWill deserves a ton of credit.

To start the 3Q, SGA flashes for the umpteenth time the rim assists that he should be getting routinely. If he wants to be the 3rd best player of the 21st century behind LBJ & SC30 then these have to be second nature to him and those PU3s have to be cranked up.

Don't let anyone hyperfocus on Shai (and OKC) manipulating the referees all playoffs without even mentioning what the tarantula has been doing on the other end within that same timeframe.

Watch how disengaged the helpside is for Harden in the first clip in contrast to a rarely active backline for Brunson in the second clip. Obviously not the same situation but it proves a point that I want to make about how inconsequential POA liabilities can be for star guards.

He was a fine defender earlier in his prime but by that time, Curry was (and still is) no better than Brunson as a defender currently. But when you are such an offensive juggernaut with committed helpers on the other end, magic happens. There's so many examples of this.

There are still fans who believe that Luka's D is why Dallas lost in '24, might be the worst defensive output I've seen for an entire playoff run but even still, he played a miniscule part in their shortcomings on that end. It's a scapegoat to distract from hard truths.
