We are heartbroken to have to write this.
Over the last few days, new information has come to light regarding the level of debt and other issues surrounding Manchester 62 FC.
After taking time to review the full situation properly, the lead investor in our consortium has made the incredibly difficult decision to walk away.
The reality is that, with the scale of debt now understood, the takeover simply cannot be completed in a way that is realistic, responsible or sustainable.
That means our attempt to save Manchester 62 FC is now over.
This is not the outcome we wanted.
We came into this because we believed the club deserved a future. We knew there would be debt. We knew there would be challenges. But the position has become far more difficult than originally understood, and it would not be right to continue asking people for support when we no longer believe the takeover can be completed.
Everyone who donated through the GoFundMe will be refunded.
We want to say a genuine thank you to every single person who donated, shared, tagged people, messaged us, offered advice, made introductions or simply took the time to care.
The support has meant more than you know.
We are sorry we could not get this over the line.
We truly wanted to help save this club.

A quick update from us.
Thank you to everyone who has shared, tagged, messaged or made introductions so far.
We have had some really positive conversations, and we are hugely grateful.
But we are still a long way off the £250,000 target, and time is very limited because of the licensing situation.
The GoFundMe is for historic debts only.
Not future wages.
Not facilities.
Not a playing budget.
Not expenses for us.
Not anything that creates a return.
Just historic debts owed from the past, including to people who gave their time, effort and trust to Manchester 62.
We are part of a consortium looking to take over the club and have committed to taking responsibility for the rest of the debt, knowing there is no return.
We are doing it because without that, the club may not have a future.
Right now, visibility and introductions matter massively.

We said we would be honest, so here is the reality.
Manchester 62 does not have months.
Because of licensing deadlines, we need to raise as much of the £250,000 target as possible within the next week or so.
To be completely clear: this money is for historic debts only.
Not a playing budget.
Not future wages.
Not facilities.
Not expenses for us.
Not anything that gives an investor a return.
It is to help repay debts left behind, including money owed to people who gave their time, effort and trust to the club.
The £250,000 will not clear the full debt. It is part of it.
As a consortium, we have committed to taking responsibility for the rest, knowing there is no return. We are doing it because without that, Manchester 62 may not have a future.
The next week matters.

We are part of a consortium looking to take over Manchester 62 FC in Gibraltar and stop the club from disappearing.
The club was founded in 1962 with the blessing of Sir Matt Busby, and its Manchester United connection is a huge part of its history.
Right now, we are trying to reach anyone connected to Manchester United or the wider United family.
Former players, ex-staff, foundation contacts, fan media, supporters’ groups, club partners - anyone who may know the right person.
