At the bottom of the Thames Estuary in Southend-on-Sea, lies the wreck of the 17th century warship with a tragic and untold story: the London. #SaveTheLondon
They are indeed back on the Thames, or should we say they are back "under" the Thames.
Diving to save artefacts from destruction is underway thanks to the generosity of the public as well as support of @DiveMasterIns and @DPWorldUK#LondonShipwreckProject#SaveTheLondon
At the weekend the team dropped it to @SouthendMuseums to see "The London Shipwreck -Her Final Voyage" exhibition - well done to all involved. Great to see the gun carriage on display. So much more still on the seabed that needs to be saved #LondonWreck1665

Thank you to everyone involved in supporting the appeal to get the London shipwreck volunteers back on the #Thames

The team thanks you all !

Without the work of @StevenEllis3 and the volunteer team we would know practically nothing about the ongoing archaeological crisis in the #Thames. We owe them a debt we can never repay, but we are proud to support them. Thanks @guardian@guardiannews#SaveTheLondon @NautArchSoc
There's a little article in the Guardian about someone's slight obsession with the Historic wreck of the #Londonwreck1665. However, it couldn't have happened without all of the team's effort and the supporters of the @SaveTheLondon campaign.

Great to see @HistoricEngland marine staff taking such an active interest in #LondonWreck1665.
Hoping this means that change is coming - fingers and toes crossed for the licenced volunteer team @StevenEllis3 @NautArchSoc
Spent a day with marine planning, listing & policy colleagues @HistoricEngland kindly hosted by delightful @SouthendMuseums to talk policy & practice & see artefacts from The London which sank in 1665. Then onto the 1.1 mile pier to gaze at the site of the protected London wreck
