Familial hypercholesterolemia was recorded in Danish registries since 1978, as the only country in the world. In both women and men in 1978 through 2021 age at death normalized but not age at coronary heart disease. Eur Heart J just published: academic.oup.com/eurheartj/a…

It took more than a DECADE... but finally it’s published!!! It started as a CRAZY idea but after tons of hard work we built it: We hijacked the endogenous secretion systems of Toxoplasma gondii, a brain parasite, to deliver active proteins to neurons 👇

Today, we report that cholesterol-induced inflammation in adipocytes is under control of the Nfe2l1-ATF3 pathway. Proteasome-mediated proteostasis is vital to suppress insulin resistance and atherosclerosis in mice and is linked to obesity in humans.

My first author paper from my thesis work has been uploaded to BioRxiv! We identified Mecr as important for T cell fitness in in vivo CRISPR screens. I have further worked with Mecr and am the first to show it regulates T cell function and metabolism.

Preprints need to gain more visibility. With the current review process they are years ahead of the conventional publishing record. If you are a funding body, pay reviewers to evaluate preprints to make them fully eligible as track record.

This is a medical first- despite drug approvals for TG >500, none were shown to reduce pancreatitis. The Balance study required great science, a great drug, great study design, and great execution to succeed.
