It’s been great to meet and hear from the new #CoSeC fellows at the CoSeC conference this afternoon. It was interesting to hear how diverse their research backgrounds are, and we look forward to seeing what they achieve over the year to come!

It’s not every day you turn 30! Today we're attending @Cedanews’s 30th birthday celebration. We work with CEDA to manage JASMIN (pictured here!), a ‘super-data cluster’ which stores and analyses decades of important environmental data. Here’s to many more years of collaboration!

And it's a wrap! Our booth at #SC24 is packed and ready for shipping back to the UK. It has been a great week - we've met friends old and new, welcomed plenty of visitors to the @STFC_Matters booth and had some fun! We'll be back next year so we'll see you all then!

Only 2 days until #SC24! We wish safe travels to the team, and we can't wait to hear their insights from the conference. Before they head off, we have another team member to introduce - our Network Architect, Jonathon. Do come and meet him and the team at booth 4331!
Jonathon Churchill is a Scientific Computing Network Architect. With over 15 years of experience in high performance networks, he designs, advises, and coordinates network activity for data centric high-performance computing and storage. He is responsible for STFC Scientific Computing’s core network (15Tbit/s bandwidth, low latency) and provides medium and long-term strategies on networks and storage for the next 20 years. He guides a small virtual team of networking practitioners. At SC24, Jonathon is looking forward to meeting with vendors and like-minded people and discovering new technologies and products on the show floor.

With only a few days until the #SC24 conference, we want to introduce another friendly face you can come and meet at booth 4331! This is Will, a Senior Systems Administrator in the Research Infrastructure Group. Do come and say hello to Will if you'll be at the conference too!
Will Furnell is a Senior Systems Administrator within the Research Infrastructure Group. Will works on JASMIN, a super-data cluster used for environmental and climate science research. They also spend time working on our physical infrastructure, Kubernetes clusters and backup systems. Will is looking forward to seeing new infrastructure solutions, learning about new developments in the field and finding better software to manage our HPC systems.

Our team are packing their bags for the #SC24 conference in Atlanta, including... Lewis, a research software engineer for our @DAFNIfacility. If you're curious about his role, come and have a chat with him at booth 4331! He's keen to connect with new people and share ideas.
Lewis Sampson is a research software engineer for the DAFNI platform. He maintains and develops the current DAFNI Kubernetes system, and is in the process of creating a new cluster. He also works closely with the team of developers to ensure that systems and developer aims align. Lewis is looking forward to connecting with others to share ideas, build networks and learn about useful new tools while having the opportunity to represent STFC as a whole. He is keen to attend sessions on HPC digital twins, secure coding practices, and cross-domain EDI discussions.
