We were told in DCO training the other day we can create an account with our @education (Google) email accounts. I can’t reply to @dounya_fattouh’s post directly.
NSW DoE colleagues- are we able to create a chatgpt account with our work email address? Or is it a personal one? Couldn't find an answer online internally 🤷‍♀️

In less than 12 months, I have over 30 years of teaching experience leave just 1 faculty in 1 school because of the pay and conditions. More are looking at leaving. Today’s announcement is not going to help retain or replace them. #HonourtheDeal. @ChrisMinnsMP @pruecar

More school visits today doing my favourite thing (working with children of course!). Thank you Railway Town Public School and Morgan Street Public School! You have completed my travel week perfectly! #RuralAccessGap

It’s been a great day doing DCO induction training. Looking forward to the opportunities to come this year, looking at how we can improve technology use in a school that usually teaches via technology.

I reckon one of the best examples of Cognitive Load Theory in practice is the load placed on teachers by Behaviour Management. Every ounce of concentration taken by BM is a loss in attention devoted to teaching the content. And there is a finite amount of attention available.

I've had a bunch of close friends leave teaching and start working in the private sector. Without fail, every single one of them says they are less stressed, their work/life balance is better, and their mental health is better, even though some are making less money. 1/

12:05 AM and just finished for the night. Year 12 Reports and Year 8 Assessment Task. Still have a job application, a NST observation report and a bunch of marking outstanding. But hey, at least I got to spend some time with my son tonight before he went to bed. #morethanthanks

Collapsed classes, minimal supervision, senior students sent to the library for individual study - all of which means students are not being engaged with the lesson as much as they would otherwise be. This is a daily occurrence now, and partly why I am striking today. 🧵

“In a 3 week period we had 109 teachers not replaced.. at 4 sessions a day that's 436 classes without a teacher.. on average each class has 20 students.... that's over 8700 students not taught!”

70% of teachers are thinking of leaving the profession. There is already a real shortage of teachers. And without real change it is going to get worse. When the teachers are failed, students fail.
