Yesterday I had the honor of testifying before Congress on AI in K-12 schools.
I showed up with a few goals: keep students safe, keep teachers in the driverβs seat, and make sure schools have tools that are purpose-built for education.
What gives me hope is what I see every day: educators using AI to save time, personalize instruction, and give better feedback, without outsourcing their judgment.
I also shared a story I canβt stop thinking about: a 10th grader describing how
@magicschoolai feedback helped her revise her writing, and how she chooses not to use AI as a shortcut because her learning matters. Every child deserves a teacher and a school that helps them build that kind of agency.
