One of our resident Tawny owls is named after wildlife photographer Eric Hosking, who lost an eye to a Tawny owl attack. At 21, Hosking is one of the original members of the Scottish Owl Centre display team, although she is enjoying her semi-retirement these days.

Our visitors often have to look very hard to find our Western Screech owls as they like to hide in their tree. This one ventured to the front for a spot of sunbathing. 😀

Our Ural owl pair were looking lovely sitting together in their aviary this morning. It’s a pity that a branch was in the way, but we do try to replicate the natural habitat of the species in their aviaries. 😀

Love seeing the old pictures. Those trees are so small! And no burrowing aviary either!

Having lost our aged female Boobook Owl, we were pleased to find this young lady to partner the male. She is only a couple of months old. Hopefully, she will breed next year.
